Applications for grants $200 and up from the Crown Point Community Foundation are available in the areas of education, health and human services, civic affairs, preservation, conservation of natural and man-made resources, arts and culture.
Pat Huber, foundation president said that the Community Foundation is interested in funding projects that will improve the quality of life for citizens in the Crown Point area.

A Gilesgate-based shop and community facility, Hexham’s Core Music, launches a separate workshop where up to six people will be trained how to repair guitars and make ukuleles. The European Social Fund grant supported the project and has secured funds through the County Durham Communication Foundation to equip the workshop in Burn Lane.
